London - SAS Global Communications, an international provider of managed network and professional services today announced that it has acquired Tidewell Solutions, a privately owned virtual network operator. Based in West Sussex, Tidewell Solutions resells IP voice and data networking products to global and UK based customers.
"With this acquisition we will have a lot more control over the networking products we sell to our customers,” said Charles Davis, CEO of SAS Global Communications. “It will also allow us to be more competitive on pricing, a key component of growing our direct customer base, and will be a major enabler for increasing our service levels and flexibility to existing customers."
The purchase of Tidewell Solutions marks the first in a series of acquisitions the company expects to make over the next three years.
“We are looking to acquire complementary managed service businesses that allow us to extend our current service reach from IP networking and application path management into key areas such as business applications, cloud security, hosting and mobility management,” said Davis. “This strategy will ensure that we continue to bridge the knowledge gap between network and application providers and deliver increasing value to customers operating in both physical and virtual environments.”
Upon closure of the acquisition, employees of Tidewell Solutions will be integrated with SAS's managed services business. Financial terms of the transaction are undisclosed.
