London - SAS Global Communications, an international provider of managed network and professional services, has today announced that it has successfully achieved ISO 27001 certification.
ISO 27001 is an Information Security Management System (ISMS) standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
Complying with the standard demonstrates that SAS has:
- Identified the risks to its information; taking account of the threats, vulnerabilities and impacts that may arise if untreated
- Designed and implemented a coherent and comprehensive suite of information security controls and/or other forms of risk treatment (such as risk avoidance or risk transfer) to address the risks that are deemed unacceptable; and
- Adopted an overarching management process to ensure that the information security controls continue to meet the organization's information security needs on an ongoing basis.
By achieving ISO 27001 accreditation, SAS is able to provide evidence to both existing and future clients that it has a comprehensive information security policy in place for managing and protecting its client information and maintaining secure networks.
"As more and more business is conducted in the cloud and across public networks, standards like ISO 27001 become increasingly important for the protection of corporate data," said Charles Davis CEO for SAS Global Communications. “As part of our planned growth strategy for managed services we are committed to building systems and processes that ensure data security and integrity for our clients at all times and we are already working towards further certification with BS 25999 and ISO 20000.”
