The SAS Group’s commitment to serving our community goes beyond providing our customers and partners with the best in managed services and infrastructure design. In 2010, we are marking our twenty-first anniversary with the SAS World Free Project, a twelve-month fund-raising initiative in aid of people living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks the upper and lower motor neurones. Our decision to support this cause was driven by the experiences of several SAS employees whose lives have been affected by this terrible disease.
Over the course of the year, we hope to raise at least £21,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) through donations made on behalf of customers and partner organisations in exchange for their participation in marketing initiatives and referral programmes.
The money raised through the SAS World Free Project will allow the MNDA to continue its work with people affected by the disease to ensure they receive essential care and support, and may also be used to help fund research into a cure; currently, there is no cure or effective treatment for the disease and the average life expectancy of someone diagnosed with the disease is less than five years. According to the MNDA, five people die every day in the UK from Motor Neurone Disease and around 5,000 people are living with the disease at any one time.
You can show your support for the SAS World Free Project by taking part in customer news stories, service reviews, market research, satisfaction surveys, customer referrals, online communities, customer events, online videos, webcasts, and other business activities we develop over the year. As each fund raising initiative is launched, we will advise you of the donation your participation will generate.
Thank you to all our customers and partners who have shown their support already in 2010.
