London, 29 September 2005 - The SAS Group and T-Mobile have teamed up to deliver wireless broadband services for commuters on Southern's London to Brighton railway network.
"This is great news for people who need a head-start on their working day," says commercial director, Lloyd Everard. "Busy commuters in the South can now access corporate and internet resources from trains and stations along the route and effectively be as productive as they are in the office."
The SAS component of the project, which involved the activation of wireless hotspots at 25 mainline stations along the route, was completed in just under two weeks and marks the latest in a series of collaborative initiatives between SAS and T-Mobile.
Other recent projects include the implementation of wireless hotspots at 78 UK Starbucks locations and 32 hotels in the MacDonald Hotels and Resorts chain, as well as the provisioning of wireless installation and configuration services to support the Tour of Britain Cycling race.
